This article introduces the project overview,construction goal and design philosophy of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. Based on large scale,factory production,standardiza-tion and assemble line,the innovative concept is taken as the general principle for design with the emphasis on description of the new material,new technology,new construction method and new equipment used in the design. The application of innovative technology has provided a solid foundation and favorable guarantee for project quality and design service life.

Based on the technology research of homemade 1 770 MPa main cable strandof Xihoumen Bridge, the paper further researched the manufacturing technology of main cable strand withsuper length (≥4 250 m), big specification (≥169 spec.) and high strength (1 860 MPa grade) andthe technique and device for setting cable or receiving cable of the level packing in coiler.It provided a technique research foundation for main cable strand of super long span suspension bridge

This paper focuses on introducing the manufacture technique of the 1770 MPa galvanized steel wire for stay cable usde in domestic bridges.During the development practices of high strength galvanized wire for the stay cable of Sutong BridgeWith these key technologies, Baosteel Group produced the 1 770 MPa galvanized wire used for stay cable, which has high strength, low relaxation and good torsion performances.
